Andy Morse battled the high winds and difficult conditions at TPC of Eagle Trace, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, last week in the Final Stage of The Champions Tour Qualifying School. Because of is hard work and perseverance, Andy finished inside the Top 30 in the tournament, which was good enough to earn his card.
Andy will be one of the few players around the world that will be eligible to qualify for each of the Champions Tour events in the 2009 season. Andy had status on the Nationwide Tour this past season for being a past winner... and is very excited about his transition to the Champions Tour. Congratulations Andy!!!
Congratulations to McGolf Learning Center student & instructor, Andrew Morse, for his incredible play this week at the Champions Tour (the Senior PGA Tour) qualifying school. Andy got through the first stage of qualifying by shooting scores of 68-68-70-72.
James Imai Introduces Himself at The US Kids PGA Invitational!
Congratulations to 7 year old James Imai for an incredible showing at The U.S. Kids PGA Golf Club Invitational tournament in Port Saint Lucie, Florida this past weekend.
James qualified locally last month for this national event, and ended up finishing in ninth place over-all out of thirty-seven other junior competitors. In only his third tournament ever, James proved a force to be reckoned with after flying a wedge straight into the hole from fifty yards out on hole #4, and playing the last four holes at 2 under par.
His final birdie came on the final hole, from a very difficult lie, with water surrounding the entire right side of the green... knocking a seven iron to 3 inches from the cup!
Great job James... keep up the great work!!!

McGolf Learning Center student, Justin Peters, fired a 61 in a Minor League Tour Event on Tuesday for a five-stroke victory. Peters had two eagles and eight birdies in his round, and set an all-time Minor League Tour Event single day scoring record. Keep up the good work Justin!!!
Congratulations to six year old junior golfer, Emma King, for a wonderful season! Emma competed, for a second straight year, on the US Kids Junior Golf Tour, and finished second over-all in the local points standings.
Emma exhibited her skills with one impressive win, and two second strong place finishes for the season!
Congratulations, and keep up the good work Emma... you should be proud!!!
Susan Choi played in her first ever Canadian Tour event this past week. On the 10th tee in the final round Susan was four shots back of the leader and went on to make birdies on the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th & 15th holes. This spectacular play got Susan into a playoff. Susan went on to make par in the playoff, which was good enough for a second place finish. Susan's final round was the lowest round of the tournament on the very difficult Richmond Country Club in Richmond, British Columbia... right outside of Vancouver.
Another great week for Justin Peters! Finishing this weeks Gateway Tour event at 11 under par, with rounds of 70-69-66. Justin made six birdies & one eagle in the final round, missing a playoff by only two strokes... and ending the week with seventeen total birdies

McGolf Learning Center Student, Justin Peters, won his first ever Gateway Tour event after firing rounds of 68-70-70, an 8 under par total, and making 16 birdies along the way. "Justin's really playing some awesome golf," said Justin's coach, Bill McInerney Jr. "He's swinging the club beautifully right now, so we've really been focusing our attention on shots around the green, and developing his mental game... he's come an incredibly long way in such a short period of time. Justin's very driven and passionate about his game, and learning as much as he can... I don't think I could ask for a better student!"
Justin followed up his win with a 3rd place finish in the very next Gateway Tour series event... making another 16 birdies in his three rounds (that's 32 birdies and 19 under par in his last 6 competitive rounds), this time finishing at 11 under par, with scores of 67-66-72.
Ironically enough, Justin won the first ever Big Break competition. Susan Choi and Justin had an opportunity to play some golf together over the winter months.
